Meet The Hive

Rooted in tradition. Crafted with care.

Sedona Bee Company began with a family legacy—born in the hills of Kentucky, where our founder’s father-in-law passed down the art of beekeeping to the next generation. That passion for bees and the pure, golden honey they produce has since found a new home in Arizona’s beautiful Verde Valley.

Today, our family-run business is proudly operated by a U.S. Army veteran, with all hands—big and small—pitching in. From beekeeping to bottling, labeling to farmers markets, our children play an active role in every part of the process, making this truly a labor of love.

We harvest raw, local honey from our own hives and also source unique honeys from across the country, crafting small-batch specialties like our signature bourbon barrel aged honey. We also handmake natural beeswax products—soothing lip balms, nourishing lotion bars, and more—using ingredients you can trust and craftsmanship you can feel.

Whether you’re here for local sweetness, a thoughtful gift, or to support a veteran-owned family business, we’re honored to share a little taste of our hive with yours.

🌼 The Benefits of Local Honey

Local honey is more than just sweet—it’s a natural way to support your health and your community. Because it’s made from the same plants blooming around you, local raw honey may help ease seasonal allergy symptoms by gently exposing your body to trace amounts of local pollen. It’s also packed with natural enzymes, antioxidants, and nutrients that haven’t been stripped by processing. By choosing local honey, you’re also supporting nearby beekeepers, native pollinators, and the wildflowers that make your region unique.

🍯 All honey is good honey!

🍯 Why All Honey Is Good Honey

(Even if it’s not local)

At Sedona Bee Company, we love our local bees—but we also celebrate the magic of honey from around the world. Whether it’s harvested in the red rocks of Arizona or the eucalyptus forests of Australia, raw honey is packed with powerful nutrients and ancient healing potential.

🌍 Honey Is More Than Just Sweet

No matter where it comes from, raw honey is:

  • Rich in antioxidants – especially flavonoids and phenolic compounds that fight inflammation and free radicals.
  • Naturally antibacterial & antifungal – great for immune support, skin, and even wound healing.
  • A prebiotic – feeding the good bacteria in your gut.
  • Soothing to sore throats & coughs – just a spoonful can calm irritation.
  • Easier to digest than sugar – thanks to its natural enzymes.

✨ Unique Honeys Worth Celebrating

Every region produces honey with its own personality—flavor, color, aroma, and even healing properties. Here’s a taste of some exceptional honeys from the U.S. and beyond:

🐝 From Across the U.S.

  • Tupelo Honey (Florida/Georgia) – Light, buttery, and incredibly slow to crystallize. A rare treat with natural resistance to granulation and a gentle impact on blood sugar.
  • Sourwood Honey (Appalachian Mountains) – Prized for its spicy-sweet flavor and high antioxidant levels. A seasonal favorite with a cult following.
  • Orange Blossom Honey (California/Florida) – Bright, floral, and citrusy, it’s rich in polyphenols and often used for calming the nervous system.
  • Fireweed Honey (Pacific Northwest/Alaska) – Delicate and light in flavor, harvested from a vibrant wildflower that grows after forest fires—honey that literally rises from the ashes.

✈️ Imported Honeys Worth Celebrating

  • Some of the world’s most treasured honeys come from faraway places, each with unique properties:
  • Manuka (New Zealand) – Famous for its strong antibacterial power and wound-healing properties. High in methylglyoxal (MGO).
  • Sidr Honey (Yemen) – Revered in traditional medicine for its healing effects and high antioxidant content.
  • Eucalyptus Honey (Spain/Australia) – Great for respiratory support and naturally soothing.
  • Acacia Honey (Europe/Asia) – Light and floral, this honey is low in glucose and slow to crystallize, making it ideal for gentle blood sugar support.

🐝 The Truth About “Local”

We love local honey for allergy support and eco reasons—but the health benefits of raw honey don’t stop at your zip code. What matters most is how it’s harvested and handled:

  • Raw and unfiltered? Yes, please.
  • No added sugar or heat processing? Absolutely.
  • Made by real bees, not factories? Always.

🐝 Our Philosophy: Support the Bees, Wherever They Buzz

At Sedona Bee Company, we believe in honoring the bees, the beekeepers, and the beauty of real honey—local and global. Whether you’re spooning up honey for health or drizzling it on your toast, you’re nourishing your body and supporting pollinators worldwide.
